PROGRAM GUIDELINES
Nix Check Cashing Community Outreach Foundation ("NCCCOF") believes that education is the key to the future. Our goal is to assist needy students in the communities that we serve in their effort to pursue higher education. These scholarships will help unlock brighter futures for deserving and dedicated students.
Nix Check Cashing is one of the largest branded chain of check cashing facilities in California serving over 600,000 customers. In March 2000, Nix Check Cashing created an alliance between Nix Check Cashing, Union Bank of California and Operation Hope, Inc. to bring convenient banking back to underserved communities.
Nix Check Cashing Scholarship Committee will make available ten scholarships of $1,000 dollars to students attending four-year instutions and five scholarships of $400 to students attending a trade school or community college.
To apply for the Nix Check Cashing Community Outreach Foundation's Scholarship, students must be a high school graduate from the end of the current academic year, be eligible to enroll in and attend a four-year college, community college or trade school, and must reside in a community that is served by Nix Check Cashing.
On June 14, 2006, Nix Check Cashing provided scholarships to local high school graduates. “Our scholarship program is just another exciting phase of our 40-year community involvement,” said, Tom Nix, President & CEO of Nix Check Cashing.
